Last week, the Supreme Court upheld the enforcement of the CMS rule requiring COVID-19 vaccination of certain health care workers. As a result, the rule will be reinstated and can be enforced as written. This rule had been temporarily blocked, and that injunction has now been overturned.
Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) health care workers are now required to be fully vaccinated by January 6, 2022 to work in healthcare settings. The ruling is designed to protect the CMS front line healthcare workers from COVID-19 and to provide patients and their families assurance while receiving treatment.
